This is Just to Say after e.e.cummings

This is Just to Say

My mom
walks
death's road
and she

who has given
such comfort
does not deserve
such  pain.

I,
not knowing
her path,
can not
find my way.

Forgive me.
You are
my compass
and I
have lost your directions.

  1. Hi Ann,
I've returned to this poem and these photos often since you posted them. Having experienced much loss in the past couple years, I understand. My thoughts are with you and your beautiful family.

  4. What a great sabbatical!! How was the Patti Smith book? And have you heard Leonard Cohen’s most recent album? I love the first photo of the pooches nuzzling in your studio! And the paintings of the woods at night, with the greens and purples, are my favorite. Also the swiiiings! The second one!! I love it…
